5. October 17th - Technical rehearsal

Today we came into the school on Saturday to have a tech rehearsal to test out the lighting and sound cues with the actors with a cue-to-cue run-through so then we know exactly when to execute each cue. And we can also make some changes to the cues if necessary.

Here are some pictures I took of the lighting cues we worked on today:

This one illuminates all three parts of the stage, this lighting state is mostly used when the actors are on the Zoom call with each other. This is achieved by having three moving washes on top of the stage. There is one small problem with this design of the lights. Because of the position of the moving washes, the light is projected on the top of the actor's head, which causes the faces of the actors to have shadows when they tilt their heads forward.

This lighting state only illuminates the stage right, making the audience focus only on the sofa, this is used when one of the actors goes to the "house" of the other actor and they have a conversation.

This is a picture of my lighting cues for the whole show, I only utilized two faders for this particular show, one fader is for all the lighting cues in the show which are put into order into a cue stack. This is very beneficial because this means that on the day of the show all I need to do is press "go" on the lighting desk and it will automatically change to the next cue. Another fader is used for the bow lights.
