On September 17th, we had the first meeting with the actors who had an idea of creating a play to reflect politics specifically feminism. We started out brainstorming some ideas and here are the ideas listed below:
Politics (the control over freedom):
- Blue/red lights on stage left / right to create a separation representing the left and right-wing politics.
- Flats down the middle of the stage to show a divide between the left and right wings and their supporters
- Sound effect national anthem to create an atmosphere of the seriousness of the government system.
- Projections of the image of dictatorship (a picture of 1 person) and an image of democracy (of many people) to show the difference between the two wings of the political system.

- Spotlights with Gobo which looks like cell bars on the stage which reflects the control the government has over the people.
- Blindfolds on stage as costumes to show that the people/actors are being controlled by the government, also shows that the people do not have their own opinions/direction (since they can't see)
Feminism (the rights for all)
- Pink lights to represent the females in the society
- New reports (prerecorded by an actor) This is to make the performance more realistic.
- Live cinema that includes the audience (turning the camera towards the audience and letting them be projected onto the screen) makes the audience reflect on themselves on their own involvement.
- Recordings of the president's speech (prerecorded by an actor) Build credibility.
- Recordings of past real events projected on the screen. Maybe to evoke emotions in the audience, they could feel sympathy for the weaker groups in society.
- Smoke to reflect tear gas to make it more realistic, and could also show what the government could do to control the protests.
